Farewatch collects only what it needs to send you flight deals and run your membership. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and the home airport you pick.
- Membership and consent records: your plan, renewal date, and a record of when you agreed to the yearly auto-renewal (time, IP address, and browser), kept as proof of consent.
- Payment details: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive a customer ID and payment status, never your full card number.
- Usage data:pages visited, which campaign or link brought you here (for example a TikTok post), checkout steps, and which deal links you click in our emails. We use this to understand what's working and to improve the service.
- Approximate location: the city, region, and country your visit comes from, derived from the request by our hosting provider. We store that approximate location, not your IP address, and use it only to see where visitors come from.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies: one to keep you signed in, one that remembers which link or campaign first brought you to the site (kept for 30 days), and a random anonymous visitor ID (kept for 1 year) so we can count unique visitors without knowing who you are. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- Send deal alerts for your airport, sign-in links, receipts, and renewal reminders.
- Run, secure, and improve Farewatch, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Keep records required for billing, taxes, and consumer protection laws.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run Farewatch for us, under their own privacy and security terms:
- Stripe for payments and billing.
- Resend to deliver emails.
- Vercel to host the website.
- Neon to store our database.
Our flight data provider receives airport codes and dates, never your personal information. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while your membership or free signup is active. After you cancel or unsubscribe, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 12 months, except billing and consent records we must keep longer for tax and legal reasons (generally up to 7 years).
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from free emails with the link in any email.
- Cancel your membership anytime from your account page.
- Ask to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing support@farewatch.co. We'll respond within 30 days. California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and we honor them for everyone. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, payments are handled by Stripe, and access to our systems is limited. No service is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it.
Children
Farewatch is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes and contact
If we make significant changes to this policy we'll email members first. Questions or requests: support@farewatch.co
